There's this rite of passage on LJ, which is suggesting to friends they join. Well, ladies and gents, three months or so after [livejournal.com profile] bitty infected me and [livejournal.com profile] slinkr gave me a code, my friendly hint last night over AOL seems to have worked. With gentleness and humility I sent over some URLs of various people, communities, and comments, in a chat window. I finished with an invitation code.

Please welcome [livejournal.com profile] mondragon. ("mondragon"?)

Next, having [livejournal.com profile] pinkfish or [livejournal.com profile] drevilmoo recruit Arnold. My next conquestconversation about this will be with Steven L.

It's a pity Max V. is over writing.

Ok, so this entry is really obnoxiously long... )

I am growing older, I can see it. Soon I will look like a ridiculous failure if I am dependably caretaking a yacht, and it will be impossible to go back to being a software engineer -- this industry is so brutal for people nearing forty. The grooves in my forehead seem to be getting deeper, some lines next to my eyes are starting to form, imperceptibly to most, but not to me. My nether equipment can not take four non-stop hours of work anymore without pause, the skin under my eyes is discoloring, I cannot physically go without sleep as much, my back, oh, my back has been 80 years old since I was twelve. Yet the one token I want of being aged manages to elude me, the one token I have payed big money for in the past to simulate. I had my stylist, Pam, check yet again last time I was in her chair: not a single white hair. I just can't win.
