I remember seeing the buttplug from an airplane a few years ago (the first time I knew it was there). I was reminded of those scenes in Japanese animated films where some demon sets up a vortex in the middle of Tokyo, which looks like some enormous coccoon or something. And the good people of Tokyo go about their daily business, not paying any attention. I always wondered if perhaps that's what happened here . . .
