Police have apprehended suspects. They aren't local to our area at all. They are also not that smart, seeing as they did this in a car with traceable plates.

The condo community I live in experienced 10 theft-at-gunpoint, breakins and attempts over the Dec-Jan timeframe. We've formed a crimewatch group and hired a courtesy patrol. Our patrol is a 30-something guy who's available by pager when he's not playing constable. Fortunately, he lives in the condo complex next to ours where he provides the same service.

As an association board member and treasurer, I'm about to submit the plan for an assessment to cover the additional security expense we hadn't budgeted for.
