fjThat beige box is My 90s Everything. All of it: the wonder of the networks coming alive for normal (i.e. non-geeks, and as a geek I loved seeing it spread) people, the insane spit-and-duct-tape measures we all used to conduct our electronic lives before it was such an Industry, the operating systems of the age, Bears, you, them, everybody, Boston, Sommerville, The Fenway, my job weaving that first web using those beige boxes and SUN, my friends, my transition to the USA, my e-home once I no longer had any academic ties to be my ISP, that back office where I did my first color work for the web (a site for Mount Wilson I will now hereby claim to have art-directed), and always that little house next door of which I always wondered who lived there until you did.
And Chinese food.
