1. It's kinda nice to hear the word "Phelps" without it being preceded by "Fred".
2. Michael Phelps needs to go on SNL with a baked stoner skit, trade being baked stories with Letterman, and pic up endorsements from brands that cater to an edgier or actually non-hypocritical adult market.

Or, better yet, have an ironclad endorsement contract that lets him keep the millions he's signed for before a disgruntled girlfriend sold his glass-pipe pics to the tabloids.

*well, actually the angry girlfriend is just speculation I'm passing on from Crazy Days and Nights (thanks for that suggestion, by the way.)
