As if wanting a solid fun job wasn't enough, now I want a solid fun job that will allow me to be based in LA and Europe, pref. London or AMS. And whose rules let me fly at least Premium Economy. I promise to never bitch about LAX. Ever.

Ever? Are you sure about that? This is LAX after all...

And talking from personal experience, it seems wanting a solid job is never enough...if we are assured of that in some form, then we always want more. It seems to be the human condition - always wanting more than we are offered...

Yeah, but I don't even have that. Currently freelancing.

But solidly freelancing at least? BTW, Can you get a pony for me too as long as you're putting together a wishlist?

Seriously, it's a good goal ... people have managed to do it-and not just Madonna.

Could you really take care of a pony right now?

Seems I am booked through the end of the month, which is more solid than I have had in a while.

Maybe they need flight stewards who can work on phones?

When you find one, pick one up for me...

I'm not above living in Silverlake.

I think it's important to let yourself fashion a dream job like this. You won't get what you want if you just focus on getting the next mundane 9-5er located in a wonky building around the corner.

And seriously—go for Business/First class and then, if necessary, negotiate to Premium Economy.

And good luck.

I'm watching with interest, since I'm about a year behind you.

Does that mean that you would be passing through immigration in some other airport or that you don't consider immigration at LAX part of LAX?

Actually, until I left, immigration had been really easy when with the GC.

Right, but didn't you just miss an important deadline which will now complicate re-entry?

As long as I hurry, I should still be in status
