Being attractive and easy to talk to does not make you a bad person.

Being a bad person makes you a bad person.

A place where people feel they can say "Hey, you look great" without social or psyhological repercussions, is a great place. Help maintain it. Don't deflect, someone just went out on a limb for you here. Continue to simply say "thank you" and acknowledge their gift. It's good for everyone.

Does "heh" count as a good enough response?

Gosh, I wish someone would REALLY take this message to heart!

Thanks for saying what we are all thinking!

I come form a place where there are very strong pressures to not allow this acknowledgement, lest it make you a bad person. I need to constantly remind myself.

I was in a Bar in Maine once and my friend Dan, who is a large man went up to someone at the abr and said "You have such a beautiful body"

The asshole turned looked at him and sniped "We have the SAME body. I just work on mine."

As I went up to him and threw my drink in his face I said to him what I say to everyone

the only acceptable response when someone compliments you is "Thank you."
