Media Moments

  1. It's kinda nice to hear the word "Phelps" without it being preceded by "Fred".
  2. Michael Phelps needs to go on SNL with a baked stoner skit, trade being baked stories with Letterman, and pic up endorsements from brands that cater to an edgier or actually non-hypocritical adult market.

actually non-hypocritical adult market

Smaller than you think.

Or, better yet, have an ironclad endorsement contract that lets him keep the millions he's signed for before a disgruntled girlfriend sold his glass-pipe pics to the tabloids.

*well, actually the angry girlfriend is just speculation I'm passing on from Crazy Days and Nights (thanks for that suggestion, by the way.)

Boy's gotten screwed by the media. No one would have cared, even Kellogs, if reporters hadn't kept harping on and on about it

The US loves its heroes, to see how far they can go.
The US loves taking down its heroes, just to show that they're no better.

that's the thing tho, I haven't seen anyone but the media go on about it

The brits perfected this mindset. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] darke is right, it is really a quite stunning exercise here.

From what I can see, Kellog was going to drop them all, not just Phelps. this incident just gave them the opportunity to grandstand on it and have a "reason" beyond "companies are worried about money these days".

Yes, I agree about the right Phelps, considering that I'm dealing with the other one's event in Cambridge a bit.

i wonder if a rolling paper company will endorse him :P

i honestly don't think he's done anything wrong. This patheticeness of holding everyone to a super high standard where it doesnt affect thier professional life is overboard.

i wonder what will happen if they find out he is not a virgib, or when he looses it.

We laughed about it all day. Well I'm more likely to buy products he endorses now!

I think it would be pretty awesome to see a picture of Fred with his lips wrapped around a huge bong.
